Not so little anymore

There's only one word to describe what's been happening between the last blog post and today ... busy! In my last blog post, written in June, I wrote about how my little side business was growing and it still is. In fact, it's become so busy that I've temporarily reduced my full-time 9-5 Monday to Friday office job to four days a week so I can keep up with orders.

I've got a to-do list down to my knees and as the sun sets each evening the list doesn't get any shorter. Here are a few things on the list right now:

> Create three weeks worth of social media posts for Buffer

> Find a company that produces product packaging

> Create a new Instagram advert using my new outdoor photographs

> Take photos of leather personalised keyrings

> Find more ways to advertise leather lanyards

I wish that was just half the list! But I love it. That's what's important. I love working for myself and enjoy having creative control.

Moving forward, there are two more things I'd like to mention in this blog post.

One, I've found a new supplier to buy leather hides from and their hides are beautiful! I bought this gorgeous green Crazy Horse oil pull-up cowhide and it's so supple and soft. I just want to make everything from it. The pull-up oil makes the leather incredibly soft and gives a nice aged look to it too. I have my eyes set on their red and tan colours next so watch out for them soon.

Two, I've started taking product photography photos outside. To some, it won't sound like a big deal, but I've currently got a good theme going on in my Instagram feed and website and I was a little hesitant to step away from it. Also, I live in Sydney. A huge city with very little nature apart from a handful of beautiful beaches. So last weekend, when I visited the Southern Highlands to visit my cousin we took a trip out to Macquarie Pass National Park. I managed to take a few straps with me and we took some photos on our small walk. I was quite impressed by my little mirrorless Sony A6000 and below are some of the photos I took. What do you think?

Anyway, that's all from me today, got to get back to my to-do list!

Thanks for reading.
